Family owned and operated since 1981 by Sal and Charlotte Monteleone, the kitchen has been headed by Chef Carlos Munoz from day one.
The menu, primarily Italian, is influenced by the owners ethnic backgrounds and eclectic tastes. Sal’s Italian, Charlotte’s Austrian European background and Carlos’ Spanish are reflected in daily specials as well as regular menu offerings.
Chef Carlos still manages to surprise and please with new seasonal specials as well as old favorites like Carlos Country Style Chicken, made (with chicken on the bone, homemade sausage, mushrooms, peppers and potatoes), or Veal Saltimbocca, Shrimp Magnolia (Shrimp sautéed in olive oil with a Dijon sauce made of pureed red and yellow peppers, basil and homemade sweet potato fries)Venetian style Calves Liver with bacon and onions or Pork Chops with Vinegar Peppers even end of summer Fried Green Jersey Tomatoes. A light Pub Menu is availble in the bar area featuring some of the innovative fare that you can also find on the lunch menu.
Sundays often find Charlotte in the kitchen preparing comfort foods such as Roast Pork with Champagne sauerkraut and homemade applesauce, Sauerbraten or Stuffed Roast Turkey with all the trimmings. Remember to leave room for Charlotte’s homemade rice pudding OR bread pudding as well as Sal’s homemade Tiramisu.
Charlotte’s Web is a comfortable restaurant with a cozy main dining room and a charming bar area. Reasonable prices, a friendly accommodating staff and delicious food and drinks are some of the reasons Charlotte’s Web was noted Best All around Restaurant in Morris County.
